Dread Fish

What are two things that every parent dreads? Their teenagers driving their vehicles and FISH. Allison attended a birthday party over the weekend in which she "won" fish. (I have since found out that several of our other friends also "won" fish.) The fish are currently being poured back and forth between clear glass pitchers, so as to keep the water clean. This is my first dreaded part about fish: Moms always have the responsibility of cleaning the tank and feeding the fish. We've been asked why the fish don't have names and an aquarium, yet. This is the other dreaded part: They ARE going to die. It's just a matter of time (or certain people...like Parker) until it happens. The "death conversation" is not a huge concern...Allison's already been fascinated with the topic for years...joy. It's the drama that is going to occur. And yet, we keep allowing Allison to attend these parties. Whatever happened to pony rides and trampolines?

that's funny-we've done the fish thing a few times and yup they always die---i haven't had to have a death talk yet. just mysteriously getting rid of them. ashlyn did say that they will go to heaven with her great grandma. but they are still cute for a couple days.
