This is what a WHOLE LOT of money will get you! Something that is definitely not sleek and sophisticated for sure, nor brand new. However, it has a great floor plan that works for us. There isn't anyone behind us. It's also at the end of a court in a nice neighborhood. It is very close to the hospital, elementary school, and shopping. It's in a great location for getting on to several highways and to the Metro. We walked out with a pretty good deal, plus negotiated all the wallpaper be taken down, the paneling in the basement to be replaced with drywall, and linoleum in the basement bathroom to be updated with tile. We are happy. The inspection went well today, there are some things that need to be fixed, but nothing major. The inspector thought we have a great house! Barring no problems, we close in six weeks. (We'll go back and get our stuff--minus the items required to downsize--and return for the kids to start school while inhabiting a Marriott Residence Inn in for a while!)

Holy cow! Talk about moving fast! That's awesome that you were able to find something so convinient. Does down sizing mean you're still getting rid of the battery driven big (Cinderella I think) jeep? Let me know, we'll be glad to buy it off your hands to lighten the load! :)
Congratulations on finding something in DC. I hope all the moving goes well. You should be a pro at it by now.
Yeah! So excited for you new place--looks great. It will be nice to finally get settled in DC after waiting to move for so long!
