Bathroom Demolition--Take 1

The closest we can come to family "motto" has always been: "There's always something going on at our house." It is 1/2 the reason why we started this blog. So, just because we haven't written anything in a little while, does not suggest that all is a "normal people's" normal.

We bought a well-built house. Most of what the inspector found was fairly minor. One minor problem was that the grout in the master bathroom shower had a few cracks in it, between the tiles. Not to be totally unexpected. The previous owner regrouted as asked. However, a few more appeared once we started using the shower more frequently. Then, we had a little drip coming through the ceiling down below. Plummers came out and determined that it was from the cracks, and not a plumbing problem. We had a friend, who'd recently retiled one of their bathrooms, who graciously had Jeremy over and showed him how to correctly do it, adding in tips, tricks, and suggesting particular tools.

The perks to doing your own bathroom demolition:
1. you are not surprised by a contractor to the amount of damage
2. don't have to pay someone to do that part for you
3. you get to use your own sledgehammer

Highly recommend doing your own bathroom demolition if:
1. you were planning on re-doing that bathroom anyways
2. you have three other bathrooms
3. you own your own sledgehammer
