Colonial Williamsburg

"More pictures and less blog" is more the idea on this entry. We went to Colonial Williamsburg yesterday and today. It is 2-1/2 hours south of us. It was 40 degrees yesterday and 30 degrees today...hence the "more pictures, less blog" idea. We had all wanted to go visit it. Sarah especially during the Christmas holidays. We can now check that off the list, go back to visit when it is warmer, and write more then! A few highlights: the capitol building, learning children's games, touring the Governor's Palace, staying warm by sidewalk fires, and being bundled up!

Jeremy earned his Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Sarah earned hers in Child and Family Development. Jeremy spent a total of 13 years with the Army. Jeremy recently graduated with a Master's in International Affairs from American University. He speaks Spanish and Malay. He goes to work at his "dream job" which he's been with for almost 8 years. Sarah taught preschool after her degree and then became a "stay-at-home" mom (yeah, right!). She is the CEO, CFO, COO, CIO, etc. of everything related to the family. This is our ninth house (ID, MO, KY, TX, KY, CA, GA, VA, SG). We are now six: Jeremy, Sarah, Allison, Madison, Parker, and McKenna. We stay busy in Singapore! We like to soak up all the adventures of the places around us and deal with the ones we are given!

When I Die...

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Scheneck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children.
