14th Anniversary

Jeremy and I went out Saturday night to celebrate our 14th anniversary. Something about not being able to go out on the actual day anymore since Madison made her debut 7 years ago! That's okay, we can find many great things to do on a weekend and leave the house earlier, and return later. We headed for Washington, D.C. (in the Chinatown District)trying a new place for dinner at a Lebanese/Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant.


On our way out, we realized that the National Portrait Gallery, across the street, was still open for 20 more minutes. We went inside. Jeremy realized that he'd been in there before. He made the comment, "I recognize the corridors, but not the paintings." I, intelligently, asked, "Were you looking at the art or were you watching the people?" You do the math. We were only in the Painted Portrait section. But, were fascinated to find portraits of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young hung prominently at one hallway intersection.

We then proceeded to walk around Chinatown, using up time until our next event. There was also a "Cop Shop" here that looked like fun. Notice the bottom right hand corner of the picture we took! Fascinating for some. ;)


We finished the evening with tickets to "The Liar." It is a French play set and written in the 1600's. It has been translated and updated. It was very interesting to watch and amusing to listen to.
