National Literary Festival
Today we went down to the National Mall for the Annual Literary Festival. It's a great idea, a day full of author signings, book readings, activities, characters, and a book store. We got free bags at the PBS Kids Pavilion, along with book marks, coloring pages, and temporary character tattoos. We took photos with Clifford the Big Red Dog and Arthur. We went to the Children's Pavilion and got free Maisy paperack books and a (new and upcoming?) hardback book for another show. There, Scholastic also gave away Make-A-Book kits. It was pretty crowded. It became packed about the time it began to rain. That's about when we decided to head out. We missed being able to hear Judy Blume read. Allison is in the middle of "Superfudge" right now...but everyone was a bit wet, excluding McKenna who was sheltered under the stroller cover.

how fun! Wish we could have gone with you.
That would have been a fun outing -Blake would have loved it! The Super Fudge series is great, Blake read them all last year and laughed tons outloud. I love seeing kids get into books that much. And to have to opportunity to meet the authors of their favorite books and get autographs, so exciting. Happy reading. :)
