In the great green room
(actually it was yellow)
there was a telephone
(actually a flat screen that was replaced after Parker hit it!)
And a red balloon
(the "annoying" ceiling fan caught those who did not run away up the 2-story foyer)
and a picture of
(lots of BBQ memories thanks to the screened-in back porch we built..."build it and they will come" idea!)
the cow jumping over the moon
(more like the famous George Washington and his horse in the breakfast room)
and there were three little bears sitting in chairs
(we had a great kitchen table!)
and two little kittens and a pair of mittens
(no, just a couple goldfish won from a friends birthday party that dad sent to the pond)
and a little toy house and a young mouse
(more like Toys R Us and all the stuffed animals to match up in the loft)
and a comb and a brush and a bowl full of mush
(you never know who brought what from where to find up in there!)
and a quiet old lady whispering "hush"
(how many times did mom sit at the top of the steps waiting for kids to fall asleep?...or find a certain little boy asleep on the steps?)
Good night room
(including the "hot" one)
Good night moon
(through all the tall Georgia pines)
Good night cow jumping over the moon
(mom jumping through hoops to get a good photo of the "red one" in the middle of the night while dad was gone so that Allison could see)
Good night light and the red balloon
(how the kids could not sleep without each light in each bedroom in working order!)
Good night bears, goodnight chairs
(we hope that they moving truck keeps them safe)
Good night kittens, good night mittens
(it really is okay if some of the toys find themselves back at the store...or anywhere else!)
Good night clocks, good night socks
(though in Georgia, we wore sandals and flip-flops year-round)
Goodnight house, goodnight mouse
(we LOVED our house and were thankful to not have a mouse)
Goodnight comb, goodnight brush
(we hope to forget the school morning arguments using these...Madison)
Goodnight nobody, goodnight mush
(our friends and neighbors were always there for us and we will miss Fox's Pizza, Joe's Japanese, and The 4th of May...and shakes at Frankie G's)
and goodnight to the old lady whispering "hush"
(may there be another one who feels as blessed as we did)
goodnight stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere.
(we are sad to leave our memories, but bid a glad farewell to the humidity and BUGS!)

For me, the worst part about leaving any place is saying good bye, because with all we know, and all the technology we have, there never is really good bye, just..."See you soon!"
So, "See you guys soon!" and thank you for all your wonderful leadership and how your family blessed all our lives with your hard work, great attitudes and service hearts and hands. You will be missed. :) I hope your new ward family realizes how lucky they are to have you with them.
can't wait to see what the new house will look like when you are done with it and what how everyone does in their new home! keep us updated...
You can tell that you have some time on your hands now...hubby back for good (no more single mom) and you've passed the R.S. torch along with all it long hours and stress - that was way cute and very creative. Good luck in D.C. and keep the blog up-to-date so we know what ya'll are up to up there. Hopefully everybody settles in quickly to the new place, school and routines...miss ya guys already!
That was very cute.
