Great Thanksgiving Weekend!

We had a great Thanksgiving Weekend! The girls were excited to get out of school two hours early. (That after considering all Mondays are half-days anyways and on Tuesday we'd had a couple different friends over to play.) Jeremy also arrived home a few hours earlier than normal on top of all of this. We had dinner out at Subway and Wendy's...somedays it's best to cater to everyone. Just about everyone slept in on Thanksgiving morning--no one EVER sleeps in! We'd been invited to some friends house. We only had to bring the salad, the corn, the apple pie, a vegetable tray, and some crackers. Thanks!!! They have two little girls, and everyone played very well. McKenna had a cute little "It's my first Thanksgiving bib" with a turkey on it and ate all her sweet potatoes. (It's always better with brown sugar and butter, if you're only used to the baby canned stuff!) Sarah and our friend both shopped the internet sales together, so as to combine the individual items and get free shipping--how great is that?!

Friday morning was spent mostly lazy around the house...and picking up a few more internet sales for Christmas presents. Jeremy went into work for the morning. We met him in D.C. for the afternoon. Our friends had recommended the Botanical Gardens...thanks, again! They set up a Christmas Children's Theme each year.

Parker was fascinated with the trains, of course. This one was a caterpillar. The girls said that there were 11 different ones. There was a Christmas/Jack Frost one, and (a highlight with the public) a one-car ladybug "train."

We had dinner just up a little bit from the Capitol Building, which sits just above the Botanical Gardens, in a little hole-in-the-wall Burrito place. We took up most of the seats:

It was cold, and quite windy, but McKenna LOVED being bundled up in her snowsuit:


On Saturday, we had McDonald's for breakfast--always a hit. Jeremy worked on some of the bathroom ceiling (cut too big for the fan that went in). Sarah finished a very large church project. The kids played outside, and one Christmas tree came out and was put up! On Sunday, we will enjoy church and having a different family over for dinner.
