Where are you?!
So, the car got crunched and we had a birthday party to "perform." Over the few days before that there had been a beeping noise coming from the basement in the vicinity of the "toy room." How many electronic toys do we have? Enough to not know which one of them was beeping... Someone finally started sifting things around and we realized that the beeping noise was coming from the Verizon box. This one communicates with everything in the house (versus the one outside that communicates with the company) and was telling us that the battery was low. So, we took it out thinking that we could replace some D-sized batteries and be done with the whole thing. Wrong. Very large battery. Think 1/2 size of a small car battery and close in shape. A new battery was ordered. It was to arrive on Tuesday, maybe Wednesday. On Friday, at 5:30 p.m., the UPS guy dropped it on the doorstep. Thanks. During this time we'd been out of internet, cable, and home phone. The battery did NOT fix this. Had to wait until Monday to have an actual person come out. Wiring problem. Don't ask. Problem now fixed and we are catching up (e-mails, phone messages, checkbook, news, electronic registrations, blogs, etc.). Thanks to Starbuck's down the road who has free Wi-Fi. Jeremy used the Wi-Fi and internet at school.
