"The Lion King" Musical

Of all the musicals out there, this is the one that Sarah has always wanted to see.  We've always been too far away from it's national-touring locations, or Jeremy's been out of country when they were "semi-close."  Now that we are "only" four hours from NYC, it's not playing there anymore.  And, in the three years here in D.C., it's not been back at the Kennedy Center.  So, when we found out that they were coming to Virginia's capitol, Richmond, only two hours away, we bought tickets as soon as they went up for sale.  We viewed the Saturday afternoon showing over President's Day weekend.  The costumes were fantastic!  Most of the music was the same from the Disney cartoon movie, some was familiar from other places, and some was original and added just for the show.  The story line stayed true to the movie and there was lots of cute humor added in.

Sarah had a childhood friend, Mary, from when she was growing up in Virginia.  While in middle school and high school, Sarah had come back for some trips and had seen her.  But, not since then.  That friend is now living in Richmond.  Mary and her son, met us at a local Richmond diner for dinner and we caught up on some things and reminisced on others.  It was fun to meet each others kids.
