Chinatown

We spent some time on Saturday and Sunday dinners going out with some different friends we already have here.  On Sunday, we also went to church.  We chose the ward that we know we will end up in due to church boundary lines compared to the neighborhoods we are looking at.  They were very, very friendly and had lots of advice.

On Monday, we got out and bought Metro (MRT) cards and took a package from our church ward in Virginia that we'd brought on the airplane and dropped it off at the church Singapore Mission office for a missionary that we know.  Here's that church building and the building for that office.  Our new church building looks similar, but a different color.

We then spent some time in Chinatown.  There are lots of clothing stores, tailoring shops, trinket/souvenir places, jewelry stores, etc.  We bought some souvenirs to send off to friends and family.  Sarah bought a few little pieces of artwork.  We did NOT buy the turtles!

On Tuesday, we headed up to the kids' new school to drop off some official paperwork.  Then, we headed over to Jeremy's work to see the office, get some base IDs, and shop at the NEX (commissary/PX).

On Wednesday, Jeremy went to work and we hung out in the apartment and went to the pool.  We've been eating out 1/2 the breakfasts (bakery places), 1/2 the lunches (American fast food or hawker stalls), and all of the dinners (local sit-downs).
