House
- empty all the piggy banks, moving companies don't move money/valuables
- pass along or throw away chemicals/flammables, this includes craft paints, candles, matches, cleaners, open liquid containers (including cooking oils, shampoos, etc.)
- have a yard sale to get rid of excess, outgrown, not needed stuff
- finish projects around the house
- put house up for rent
- organize large filing cabinet into small, transportable accordian-style file folder
- apply (mini-college application) to private school, each individual
- make many e-mails and phone calls if a child doesn't get accepted
- sell ALL vehicles (vehicles in Singapore have steering column on opposite side)
- get a motorcycle license (just in case, they are transferrable and Americans can't get them originally in Singapore)
- put together creative renditions of anything open, frozen, near expiration, or won't be allowed to be packed and shipped
- start purchasing (in bulk) favorite items (local grocery store brand items, comfort foods, hypo-allergenic laundry soaps, etc.), items not found over there (fruit snacks), or items atrociously expensive over there (anything with an American brand or label, specifically cake mixes and macaroni and cheese)
- get kids "travel" (normal) passports and pictures
- get everyone's "official" passports and pictures
- get required shots
- pack suitcases with everything needed for atleast 2 weeks
- pack backpacks for 24 hour airplane travel
- visit each one and pick up records to hand-carry, or have on hard-copy
- have braces removal coordinated, completed, off, and retainer in
- make sure new eyeglasses arrive in time
- make sure to stock up on over-the-counter drugs (they have different names in some other countries)
- realize you are forgetting something and scramble to do it
- realize you didn't do something and either pay to have someone else do it or decide that it's not going to happen

Oh, man. Moving within the states is hard enough. I can only imagine how much harder it is to choreograph a move to the other side of the world. I'm so glad you all got there safely, though, and you are on the downhill end.

well, you're definitely the woman for the job, Sarah! The apartment in Singapore looks so fresh and lovely. Hope y'all are having a good time and that things start to settle down a bit soon.
