"THE" Mormon Tabernacle Choir

For those of you who live in Utah and see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir live "all the time,"  Allison and I can now cock our heads to the side and stick our tongues out at you...all in great fun, of course.  The Choir came to the Washington, D.C. area at at place called "Wolf Trap," a covered outdoor amplitheatre/performing arts center in Vienna, VA.

I had purchased two tickets on the first day of sales, many months ago.  According to the past "record" of the summer abroad class that Jeremy is currently in, he would have been back last week instead of leaving, therefore it was decided that Allison would go with "mo-om" (can you hear the joy from her?).

Allison, a little happier (maybe it was the 4-hour sun exposure from the pool of good friends earlier, or the fact that I let her sit in the front seat of the van, being the safety stickler that I am, or maybe because she finally decided it was cool to be out with mom...only):

Us, from our seats.  We had members of our church ward sitting about 5-10 rows behind us, another family 5-10 row behind them, and a group of 30 across from all of us, which made intermission quite sociable:

The organist played a solo like you've never seen anyone come close to playing an organ like that.  One of the choir members sang two solos with the choir as "back-up"...the first was an African folk song with a huge amount of soul, the second was another African folk song, with a huge dose of humor.  Allison actually looked at me and unimpressedly and semi-sarcastically stated that he was a "little dramatic."  The Choir sang 20 songs, one Encore, one number where a Virginia Senator conducted, and a Finale.  They were fantastic!
